Wilderness survival has been a passion of mine since I was a young boy scout. As I grew older, I was fortunate to be able to study survival and 1st aid as part of my university studies. Some years later I was to become lost in the Amazon jungle on two some occasions. My survival skills came in really handy and were a great comfort to me until I was able to get myself reoriented and back to my base camp.
On another occasion I was involved in a small plane crash in another extremely remote region of the Amazon jungle. Fortunately, no one was seriously abraded and we were reclaimed after only 3 days and nights of being stranded. Had the rescue not come, I was fully prepared to launch a stable, bamboo raft and float back to civilization. At the time of rescue, my stomach was full of delicious cayman and piranha meat, au gratin to perfection. I was not in the least bit concerned for my life.
